5 Ways to Maximise Space in a Small Bedroom

Decluttering and getting rid of unnecessary items may sound simple but most of us are still not doing it right.

Help yourself and check out these 5 smart ways to maximise space in a small bedroom:

1. Get a regular-sized bed – It’s everyone’s dream to sleep on a huge bed but do you actually need one? Considering the size of your bedroom? Think about how much space you can free up if you choose to get the regular size.

2. Use multifunctional furniture – This is a MUST. An example would be a bed that has a bookshelf on the headboard and drawers below. That’s 3 pieces of furniture in one. It can house quite a lot of items so you don’t have to use other pieces of furniture that block valuable space.

3. Maximise storage on walls – A mirror that hangs on the wall is a very good example. The large ones that sit on the floor just take up a lot of space and is not wise at all. Another example is an open-close shelving which allows you to remove bookshelves and storage units off of the floor.

4. Remove large entertainment space – Consider moving your TV, gaming system, and stereo to the family or living room. Going back and forth is way better as compared to not having enough space for more important stuff. You can also opt for a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall if you happen to be a “TV 24/7” kind of person.

5. Use other rooms in the house – You have heard of hall closets that only store gigantic winter coats, for sure. This kind of closet is actually a great option to house seasonal clothing and seldom-worn formal clothes.
